kindrichI don't have the M50 nor the K267* (I think that's what you meant?) but I received the K7XX a few days back. That said, you can't exactly compare the K7XX to the other two because the K7XX are the only open headphones of the three. Because of that, safe to say the K7XX will have a wider/deeper soundstage, sound more "natural" and leak more sound. I also feel safe to say, when paired with a decent amp or DAC/amp, the K7XX are the better headphones technically. IMO, they are quite impressive in reproducing strings, piano, vocals and EDM. They also don't lack bass but are well balanced IMO.
Good all-rounder and really good value. I think they'd be a nice open, complement to your closed M50 and will show more improvement than the K267.

kindrichI have a M50x and my brother recently got his K267 Tiesto headphones. I don't have a K7XX to compare with, however. My opinion on "which is better" is that there no such thing. Each headphone has its strong points as well as weak points. A lot also has to do with personal preferences, specifically when it comes down to different sound signatures.
I would not have thought that the K267 had an msrp well above the M50x. With the higher msrp, I would have though the K267 had less downsides. For example, it has a reputation of iffy build quality (breaking at the hinge, though I heard it's been fixed), and I thought it was less comfortable than the M50x to wear for more than an hour. The earcups in the K267 seemed less spacious than the M50x as well. On the other hand, the adjustable bass on the K267 works well and gives the headphones versatility.
In terms of sound signature, the M50x is very v-shaped. The K267 has a much fuller and neutral sound.
If I was in your shoes, I would probably consider the K7XX, so I would have a closed-back headphone and an open-back headphone. I find it fun to have a variety of different headphones to play with. But that's just me.

MonsieurKirbyReviews online seem to agree with what you're saying, that there's no clear winner between the K267 and M50. They just have very different sound signatures, and depending on one's listening preference one set of cans might be better than the other.
But when taking their prices and build quality into consideration, everyone seems to always recommend M50 :-).

I listen to a wide variety of music, but the 3 main ones are: classical pop/vocal (think Il Divo or Broadway music), singer/song-writer (lots of acoustic guitar and piano), and EDM (been jamming the new Aviici album).
$130 and $200 to me for all intents and purposes are in the same price range -- can anyone who is lucky enough to have both of these give a recommendation?
Right now my main driver is ATH-M50. Does this can or the K227 give a big enough improvement?
