Got them yesterday, I just hate everything about them, the sound, the build quality, they are not even that comfortable. Its like my 80$ ATH-AD700 beat them in any aspect, what am I missing here???
Using Creative Sound Blaster Z soundcard.

impassionThe sound is very "muddy" compared to my AD700, also some of the sounds are alot less noticeable in comparison to my AD700 and i feel i just miss some of the voices in my music, games and movies.

TheUNDERTAKERMind the 1dB interval… :)
Sahar, I would recommend giving them at least a week and see how you feel about them then. When I first received mine, I compared them directly to a set of AKG K702 (rather bright). While the K7XX were warmer and had stronger bass, I too perceived muddiness and lack of detail in comparison to the K702. Then I stopped comparing the two side-by-side and just listened to the K7XX's for a while and it helped me to appreciate the difference in presentation and tone.
Again, I would recommend at least a week of evaluating them, on their own, to allow your brain to adapt to the difference in presentation.

SaharQuite certain it's due to lack of a proper amplifier. There are some out there who will tell you these sound great out of the motherboard. In your case, congratulations: at least you have a better idea of how music sounds like than they do. At the very least, I can say I agree with your impressions out of a soundcard or anything that is PC-powered, which will not supply them the current needed. Mind you, amplification is not just about getting them loud, which I am sure you would have found out by now; it is also about getting them to play with finesse, or to their full range, especially in the middle frequencies where the voices are. If you stay in the US, the Schiit Magni can power them if a bit too strongly in the treble, or go for the Schiit Vali which is on closeout sale now, if you want a decent amplifier that doesn't cost more than the headphones themselves. Best though if you can audition amplifiers at a brick and mortar shop so you at least have an idea of how the K7XX really ought to sound like.

TheUNDERTAKER@theUNDERTAKER...
So the horrendous dip at 3K goes away after burn in?

GnuBWhat dip are you referring to? Graph that I have posted does not have 3KHz mark. But it shows that sound signature changes over time. Here is k7xx measurements from the same source. I do not see anything at 3KHz that can be described as horrendous dip. But I may just be ignorant or misinformed. http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/AKGK7XX.pdf

TheUNDERTAKERI was going by the frequency response graph on the product page (see attached) and it looks like there is a substantial dip at 3K or so but it is flattened out on the graph you posted earlier. It looks a little different than the graph in the PDF that you attached above.

TheUNDERTAKERNevermind. I misread your graph. It doesn't go to 3K. But the question remains. Does it smooth out the dip with burn in?

GnuBI do not know. I hope it will, but do not expect serious smoothing. If it will go from -30db to -22db at 3kHz according to your graph that would be pretty good and noticeable result. Testing will show but with May 5 shipping date I will have to wait until June.
