$200.00 for "Designed" in Austria...BUT made in China, really!? VERY disappointing AKG! My Beyerdynamic 600 Ohm cans for $169.00 "Made in Germany NOT China, shine compared to these.
Dunno who hyped these, look stylish nice & large over the ear cans but definitely NOT what they are made out to be. Not a fault of Massdrop, however read reviews about a product in DETAIL before thinking your gonna get a decent deal through Massdrop...
Not anywhere as comfortable as Sennheiser HD or the Beyerdynamic brand headphones.
I would recommend buyer "beware" when it comes to these hyped "audiophile" headphones, there are plenty of other brands out there with a lower price point & quality than these.
One must remember the old adage, if it's to good too be true it always is!

XpfreakAKG headphones have been moved to be produced in China years ago... It's just how it is. In the past, it was buy the one that's made in China, or pay double and get the one made in Austria. Now, as people keep asking for lower prices and nobody wants to pay for the ones from Europe with better quality and warranty, everything's made in China it else they can't sell anymore.
If you buy seconds handed, people often ask if it's the Chinese version or not. This has been well known for years but nobody really talk about it now because pretty much everyone should know what they are getting into when buying a 200 dollar headphone that used to cost double.
If you read reviews, the k7xx is pretty much the k712. That one is still made in Austria if you are into that.

XpfreakLower quality manufacturing from China? I doubt that very much. These aren't rice farmers building these, trying to earn a bit of extra coin between harvests. lol

RocktoberNo,no...what I was implying is that profits are "greater" for the producer/owner. Lower production cost w/ high profit margin = consumer is the looser. No one would be able to convince me that this product is "worth" that much, even if it was made with exotic materials...
