Anyone else planning on replacing the earpads with less heat trapping materials? If so, what are your thoughts?

AftermanYeah, those are what I was eyeballing. I went ahead and ordered the Beyerdynamic EDT990V Headphone Ear Pads [Silver] from Amazon.

takenPlease let us know how well they fit on these headphones. I may end up replacing my pads s well as I prefer velour.

EniGmA1987I tried those cheap velour hifiman replacement pads from head-direct and it totally took out the mids. The mids got so recessed that I had to turn up the volume a lot. I usually have my volume at like 10-12%. But I had to turn it up past 50% with the velour pads. At first I was wondering why they sounded low. Then I put the stock pads back on and was like, oh, that's why. But the hifiman pads do fit with a bit of stretching. Maybe get the pleather velour pad combo ones.

EniGmA1987The Bd velour pads are so much more comfortable than the stock pads but as stated elsewhere, they're definitely a tight fit. However, once they're on, they fit fine and look great. I also want to say that I'm quite surprised how comfortable the headphones are out of the box. Normally I have to stretch my phones out by having them straddle my PC case every night. These just feel great. My first night wearing them with the new pads, no uncomfortable ear heat, no sore ears, etc. I'm very happy with my purchase(s).
