Got mine in yesterday, and I'm very happy with them; compared to my last set of headphones(Bose Soundsport), they're a massive upgrade in terms of sound quality. I listen mostly to metal, and there was a major improvement in the sound of well produced records all around, most noticeably in the bass guitar and cymbals, and I'm hearing details that I'd completely missed previously. I'm not sure why people are suggesting amps for these, as they get plenty loud on both my 2012 iPod Classic and my Droid Turbo. Listening to bands like Native Construct and Wilderun on these just brings a smile to my face. Classic metal bands like Black Sabbath and Megadeth also sound a whole lot better. I also listened to Beethoven's 9th, and while it did sound better, it didn't benefit as much as I had expected.
Poorly produced music, however, is much more apparent with these than any other speakers or headphones I've listened to. Brickwalled music, in particular, suffers on these due to all the peaking creating staticy artifacts. All That Remain's "The Order of Things" is unlistenable to me now for this very reason. Fleshgod Apocalypse's "King" sounds really good, though, so even some brickwalled stuff sounds great depending on the rest of the production.
Build-wise, these are very light and I'm somewhat worried about how they'll hold up over time. They flex easily, and while this makes them very comfortable to wear, I can easily image the bands across the top snapping. I hope they have an aluminum interior, but I'd be surprised if that's the case. The detachable cable is pretty awesome, and makes carrying them around much easier. It also allows me to fix my primary complaint: cable length. I don't need a 10' cable, and I'm so happy that I don't have to live with it.
