How can $50 headphones be "Studio" grade? What kind of studio are we talking about here?

BiffsBizThese are just a cheaper version of the K240 which indeed are classified as monitors and are used in some studios.

YavorThe K240 sels for only $55 to $70. Since when are crappy headphones like these used in studios? Reproduction equipment in studios is always of the very highest accuracy. You don't get any form of accuracy in this price range, IMO.

BiffsBizHave you ever been in a pro recording studio? Then you would have used AKG K240 headphones. They are pretty much the standard everywhere.

DavidRavenMoonPretty sure the Sony ones are the standard. Well, for anyone who isn't braindead.

BiffsBizLike Yavor said, these are pretty much identical to the K240. How do you know they're crappy, have you used them before?

BiffsBizStudios don't just use the $1500 headphones, they use a range of equipment from mid-fi to hi-fi. Any half-decent studio should be able to mix and test their mastering on a wide range of outputs so that they sound as good as they possibly can on as much equipment as possible. These are very good headphones for their price.
