Got my chair sooner than expected, and was easy to put together. I am 5'9" 150lb and the chair feels very comfortable, my only complaint is the arm rests do not swivel or tilt. Because of my narrower frame, and the distance between the arm rests, I feel like i have to have my arms spaced out quite a bit. This is my own fault though for not seeing the swivel, but other than that, the chair is very comfortable.
Overall great experience here.
The chair arrived the day BEFORE it was supposed to be shipped in a HUGE box. The installation took about 30 minutes for one person and was a lot easier than most of the office chairs I've put together. The all metal frame seems very sturdy and is very reassuring. The pillows look uncomfortable but fit my back perfectly and are very comfortable (5'10" and 180lb). The foam is very comfortable, a little on the firm side, but that's not a complaint.
Here are the downsides:
The plastic hinge covers seem pretty cheap and mine came with the right side one installed but broken.
The straps that hold the pillows are made of a pretty cheap material as well. I'm nitpicking the cosmetic stuff here, but I'm giving all the pros and cons I've got thus far.
Mine came with the bolts in the chair back and bottom when it arrived, so check there before you assume you're missing bolts.
Akracing, I need your help. Im a 5"11 240 pound male, game about 6-8 hours on my days off, so I need something very strong and comfortable to support my weight. What do you recommend for me?
Deftones787I would recommend 3 different models that would work well for you one of which you already purchased. The Premium Series, Onyx Series, or PROX series chairs would all work well for you. How are you liking your Premium Series Chair?
The RapidX Finish Line gaming chair drop that just started looks pretty interesting. good price, seems to have a lot of features. i wonder how it compares to the AKRacing.
jjcciaI'm considering between those two brands, too. Because there's not much information about Rapid X products, I cannot still decide which would be the best choice for my gaming chair.
jjcciaOf course, I am biased. But without any bias, let's just take a look at some of the things Rapid X does not have or does not specify. I would guess that most of these they would say if they had:
1. Steel or metal frame.
2. Cold Molded Foam
3. Foam density--they don't say
4. Total foam weight---also missing
5. Five year warranty on the chair, 10 years on the frame
6. 180 degree recline
And that's just a few. I leave it to you to evaluate.
Logic77That is a big questions to answer and could take a lot of time. However I will directly answer your second questions. The best chair that for someone who is 5'7" would either be the Onyx or Premium Series chairs. The Onyx is the top of the line chair AKRacing as to offer and I can say personally that its awesome. The next for your size would be the Premium Series. The main differences in the chairs is slight size differences of course but mainly how many pounds of cold molded foam are put into them. The Onyx has the most of any chair followed by the Premium Series. Now, the two chairs I mentioned are also would be perfect solutions for someone as tall as 6'6" as well, just for reference.
I'm 6 feet tall and weigh about 200 pounds.
My waist is a size 36.
Which chair would be better for me?
The player or the overture?
I'm committed on the overture but will swap to this if its better for me.
rifat10467You are the exact size I am. Both chairs will be good for you. The Player has a bit more foam on its frame, so might be a little more comfortable. It's really very close. Personally, I would choose on aesthetics. In person the Overture series looks great and I would lean toward it based on that. But that's me :)
