What is the difference between this chair and the prime chair thats 179$? I committed to the Prime Chair but i'm considering this one now. Can anybody tell me the differences please? I'm 5'8 150 pounds if it makes a difference :) Thanks!

My understanding is that the prime is essentially a bit smaller and has different fabric. This drop has a pleather while the prime has 'breathable fabric upholstry'; which is giong to be harder to clean and may not be as 'nice' as the pleather (but will be more forgiving to pet claws).
Overall the build quality should be the same, with the same features. I am 6' 170 and this chair fits me nicely with a bit room to spare; I am pretty confident the prime would be fine for you unless you want the different fabric.

gdoteofI just don't want the fabric to wear out. My current chair i'v had for 3-4 years and the fake leather is falling apart off of the chair. Keep in mind i use the chair anywhere from 5-10 hours a day. I just want to know what will hold up better in the long run - the Prime chair's material or the Premium V2 chair's pleather. Thanks again for your input though :)

kandilarovThat's a fair question. I also have a pleather chair that is peeling and disgusting. I can't say what this one will do overtime (I don't know if they've been making chairs for 5 years for anyone to chime in).
I will say though that this one has a 5 year warranty on the chair, and my previous one did not.
I've had mine for a couple weeks now; it feels high quality, it's not peeling yet. I don't know enough about PU leather to say what is likely to happen in the future.

kandilarovThe reason your current chair is peeling is because it is made of low grade pleather, AKA faux leather or PU leather. There are several different grades available. The problem is that it is almost impossible for consumers to tell which grade they're buying so a lot of companies just use the lowest grade and the result is the sort of problem you're having.
Our chairs use the highest possible grade, which is why they have a five year warranty on the chair and a full 10 years on the steel frame. The fabric on the Prime is also warranted for the same period. The Premium is a better chair if only because it has several upgraded features, more foam packed on the frame, better casters and a better base.

AKRacingAmericaAre those three things listed the only major differences between the two chairs? And thanks for the original reply :)

kandilarovAnd the pleather upholstery. Those are pretty substantial upgrades. The base alone is a huge difference in strength and the foam is an extra 1 1/2 lbs on the frame. There are some variations in some measurements too, although they are built on the same basic frame. https://www.akracing.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Premium-2.jpg https://www.akracing.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Prime-2.jpg
