So question for anyone who has this chair: I know these are high quality chairs and I'm so close to pulling the trigger on this drop, but I'm still toying around with the idea of padded PU leather vs mesh or fabric, in terms of breathability and long-term support.
I've seen the images of the high grade foam and have no doubt it won't get compressed to nothing like my current exec-style chair, and the leather likely won't flake away like my current chair. However, I believe my current chair is still made out of PU leather and gets warm quickly, so I'm afraid I'll have the same problem with this chair. Anyone have similar experiences?
Also, is the lumbar pillow actually a usable replacement for built-in lumbar support? I know this isn't a $1000 Herman-miller, but I would like to know that it will help my back as much as some of the other ~$300 office chairs I'm seeing online and in big-box stores...
Thanks!

NateFruehOf course, I am biased. But I use the lumbar support all the time. I have lower back pain due to a compressed vertebrae and about 20 minutes in the chair with lumbar pillow properly adjusted makes the pain almost completely go away.

NateFruehHi, I bought mine here on Massdrop a few months ago. Typically, I sit in it for a few hours a day and maybe all day long on some days.
My man cave is usually pretty cool. Over this past summer I did NOT get hot or sweaty sitting in this chair.
Only time will tell for sure, but the PU leather seems really tough and durable. Reminds of the Honda seat covers from my old Element. I think it will be good for a few years, at least.
The lumbar pillow works well for me. It's nice and firm. It does slide up and down, so i usually position it when I first sit down. When you lay out the seat back for a quick nap, You can move it to where you need it, big plus over a fixed position built in lumbar support. I did sit without it for a week or so. The chair is still comfy but I did find myself slouching a lot in the char, that wasn't good for my back.
FWIW, I bought another AKRacing chair for my daughter. She is a digital graphic artist, so she sits in her chair over 10 hours a day. All she does is sing praises and hallejuhah for this thing. LOLS
I use to sit in an Herman Miller in an office where I worked. I hated those chairs, they were the most uncomfortable chairs I ever sat on. I gave mine over to someone else and ran to the storage room and reclaimed an old office chair.
