We make good looking knives, with nice fit and finish, and sub par materials for the price. -Al Mar
Their knives are attractive, but their pricing is way out of whack.
I am usually one for big pocket knives, but I think I would actually have preferred if this was had come in just under the 3.5" mark instead of just over it.
That, and I just don't think I have room for another thumb-stud, liner-lock, vg-10 knife at the moment. Maybe I will look at picking on of these up in the future.
Al Mar and kershaw have collaborated to bring Al Mar styling at a more reasonable price point (with some awesome looking red spacers).
Google "Al Mar Kershaw" and take a look. The three models offered are:

I own a mini SERE and it is a great knife, but the price point can be an issue.
Vg10 steel, which is a good steel but is it $234.00 good?
Plus is a 234 dollar knife an "everyday" carry?
I do like low ride clips ( as does like almost everyone.. *hint to manufacturers )
kenstogieHey brother, I hear you. I can tell you that my expensive knives, those were saved up for over the course of many months.
I would tell you that in this price range ($250ish) you can find MANY excellent knives that you would have for the rest of your life. Candidly speaking, while I do love the design of this SERE 2000, for this money (actually for less with the older models), you can snap up a Zero Tolerance which will be made of much higher level materials.
