Product Description
The All-Clad stainless steel 12-inch fry pan is large enough for most meals and strong enough to last. It’s constructed of three layers, with a stainless steel exterior that won’t impart flavor and an aluminum core that heats up quickly—not to mention the outer layer is induction compatible Read More

shr00m7The Try-ply bonded series Fry pan does not come with a lid. There are several styles that look like this fry pan that do come with lids.

The image 9 of 9 is not the same as the fry pan. Of it was I'd buy this. I like the tall side rondeau style. If your going to sell shit, you should at least post the correct imagery.

Tom_ShueUmm, that photo is like, one of the super common stock images for All-Clad dude. It's used on almost every seller website, from Williams-Sonoma, to Crate and Barrel, to Sur la Table. It's clearly meant to illustrate the point that the 12 inch fry pan is oven safe up to very high temperatures. :)

used this one on household stoves, worked like a champ. any regular gas stove or electric is a win with this one. however, in my opinion it is not at all suitable for high heat burners . it warps way too fast, especially if you pour cold/iced water while it's on the burner. If you have anything but a high heat burner, go for the 3 ply by all means. it's an excellent pan for the price. if you use professional stoves or external burner with high heat flame, high pressure gas - get the 5 ply model to prevent warping.
Interesting. I've found I can get stuck on bits off pretty easily with hot liquids, so never needed to use cold. I've heard of using ice water to stop cooking vegetables but never seen it done in the pan. Learn something new everyday, thanks.

Notsurewhyibotheryup, cold or hot water to prevent stuff from sticking while cooking, or to clean the pan after cooking. doesn't matter, as the idea is to prevent carbonization of food on the base of the pan and ruin the seasoning. for proper seasoning on this 3-ply pan, i recommend using the oven method instead of heating the oil on the stove past its burning point. p.s when i said add iced water i didn't mean submerge the pan in an ice bath ^_^ .. up to half a cup is all that's needed to quickly drop the temperature without risking thermal shock.

Excited to see some All-Clad products, disappointed that Amazon easily trumps this "deal". I've been watching this exact product on Amazon for price drops... $119 is their every day price with free Prime shipping.
