How are the blades coated? I couldn't find any info on their web site.
Also, you guys should show the spines. They're sexy.

DataLooks anodized, but theres always the off chance they used cerakote. If anyone has one in hand they should be able to tell us better, but those are typical.

DataHey there! Thanks for the question! The blades are finished with a molybdenum-based thermal resin. I like it quite a bit! It's tough, protective, and provides a bit a lubricity as well. It also works with firesteels! Thanks!

ExonauticI assumed it was PVD or powder coat, but given the extra heat treating they mentioned in the description, Cerakote would be a bit more appropriate. Here's hoping...

Justin_AKWThanks for the quick reply. This is interesting. Can you tell us more? How is the abrasion resistance compared to some of the other industry coatings?

DataActually forgot about powder coat entirely. But looks like we got an answer. Seems like it could be a tough blade.

DataSure! I've tried out different finishes over the years and really liked this. It's similar to Cerakote and applied in a very similar fashion. It uses suspended molybdenum particles which are "slick" and wear-resistant by nature (it also works well with the heat-treat). I wanted something that would be acceptable for the bushcraft and survival guys too, so the fact it worked with firesteels was a major plus. It exceeds the current milspec-standard for salt-spray and immersion. It's pretty good stuff!
