Really handsome... Very tempted. Would a slim-ish pen like Pilot Metro ride semi-comfortably inside the wallet when closed, or would it need to clip to binding and ride on outside? Maybe I could get something like elastic closure band added by factory for a little more.

I received mine today and the leather work is beautiful and the item FEELS great. My one issue is the pocket into which the field notes back cover slides is really tight. I'm not sure you can tell by the pictures, but te paper cover of the notebook got pretty bent up and I tried to squeeze it in. I don't think it will loosen up from just the Field Notes cardboard, so I'll probably try to slip a piece of plastic of some sort in there to act as a guide (and possibly loosen it up a little.)

@AllegoryGoodsa, this looks like a winner. I always carry a small notebook (Moleskine Cahiers) with me, when I'm on-duty and off-duty. I was already looking for a good solution to protect it with a cover against pocket wear. Is it possible to add a small and thin leather lace to the Notebook Wallet, so I won't forget at what page I was? I don't mind if it's not permanently mounted. Hope to hear from you.

Is there seriously no way to get the pen loop without the pen ? Feels weird to me, since i assume a lot of people here have a favorite writing tool already ...

AshmadaiThe reason for that is that a mini pen just barely fits, so most people's standard daily carry pen will be much wider than the wallet. Also the loop is sized just right for the mini pen, and will be too small for most pens.

ARE THOSE PEN DIMENSIONS/DESCRIPTION CORRECT???
There are capped/uncapped/posted dimensions, but the pictures of the pen in the loop shows the tip retracted (or refill not installed?).
Also, the pen dimensions are 5" (uncapped) and 5.6" (capped). Yet the wallet is only 3.9" wide, which the pen appears to be no wider than in the picture!
