Product Description
From Chicago’s Allegory Handcrafted Goods, the Precision Collection features timeless mid-century modern designs made from reclaimed wood. Each pen’s materials tell a story and add meaning to the finished piece—like “The Cap,” made from a combination of Bethlehem olive wood from ancient groves and salvaged Indonesian teak Read More

Read the comments below about the magnetic cap. I have one of their other models and ink dries out quickly and it clogs up the feed/ nib faster than with a more traditionally sealing pen.

Um, Israel may protect olive trees but Bethlehem is in Palestine and settlers have an unfortunate habit of cutting down olive groves to drive out their neighbors and clear land to build fortified "suburbs". There are new settlements going up around Bethlehem regularly. Where exactly is this wood coming from and whom exactly are you buying it from?

jim27The olive trees are probably still pretty old though. And still look sweet

Ben24That's not what he's getting at, he's saying that it's unclear whether the wood is actually sourced from sustainable olive groves in Israel, or rather (and more likely) sourced from trees uprooted in illegal settlement efforts in Bethlehem. But the wood is probably pretty old and does indeed look sweet

The short grip section or the suggestion of using the barrel to grip the pen to write does cut it for me.... Sorry but no thanks.

Asked this on the previous drop, never received a response, so I ask again...
Is there a way to only purchase a rollerball? It appears that the roller ball is only available as an add-on to the fountain pen
dasmanI just sent a message to massdrop to check in on how they have that set up. If not, we'll work something out for you.

dasmanHi @dasman
We just added an option under the fountain pen selection at checkout that will allow you to move forward with just ordering the rollerball. Scroll down and select the "No thanks..." option under where you would fill out the body style and nib size. I hope this helps!

Are the leather sleeves included when both pens are purchased?

Box and 2 sleeves?
GoldybearGoldybear, thanks for double checking. I misspoke there. The box is the default when ordering two. But if you send us a note at service@allegorygoods.com with your massdrop order info we'll throw a couple sleeves in too.

Cheap nib and a generic feed. If you're a fountain pen user, avoid.
MotomohMotomoh, Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with this. Shoot us a message at service@allegorygoods.com and let's see if we can get that resolved.
Thanks, Chad

Should these arrive with the medium nib as well with the nib of my choice? And is it normal for the cap to be lacquered much less than the body and wiggle when it's on?
megical_bananaSome wiggle on the cap is normal due to the magnetic closure. However if there are inconsistinces in the finish that's something we should get fixed. Please send a message to service@allegorygoods.com to get that process started.
Thanks! Chad

I’ve read this entire thread, but I’m curious what previous owners have thought about the feel of the pen while writing. The grip section is really short if not non-existent and appears one needs to modify how they hold the Pen. I’m curious how comfortable it is to write with. I will add the ink problems that were spoken about several times here and the cracking of the wood gave me me pause for consideration before joining.
