This pen sucks. I'm used to fountain pens requiring a little bit of maintenance, but this one clogs up if left sitting for even a day or two. And unlike other pens where you can scribble on paper for a few minutes to get it going again, it requires removing the nib, cleaning out, and running ink through it EVERY TIME I try to use it. It just seems like a very poor quality nib/ink system. I have tried both the cartridges and the ink converter. The pen looks great and I love the wood and has a good feel, but it's a total pain to use. Anyone else finding this??

drsteviezI have a pen similar to this and your right about the drying up. The converter is not great and had better experience with the cartridges. I actually just changed it back to a roller ball as the fountain pen kept drying up on me after a day or two as you said. Here is a video of the guy making my pen:

drsteviezLet's try a couple things to get this resolved. I suspect there was some dust inside the feed making it excessively prone to clogging. This may very well have happened on our end, one of the difficulties of running a woodshop is dust control.
Step 1 - Let's see if we can flush it out. Get a cup of warm water, and your screw piston converter. take the nib and housing off the pen, and attach the converter. Submerge the nib, and fill and empty the converter 5-10x. Keep the nib submerged during this process. Take the converter off, empty it, dry everything off, and repeat one more time.
Step 2 - If you still have issues let's get you a new nib and section. Email service@allegorygoods.com to get that worked on.
Thanks, Chad

AllegoryGoodsI tried all those steps. It again worked for a couple of days and then after sitting overnight stopped working. Can I trade this in for a ballpoint? I did not keep any of the original packaging.. . Thanks!

drsteviezKudos to Chad and the folks at Allegory for a speedy replacement. The rollerball converter works great and now I have a very nice pen.
