Anyone know how this works with the Hobonichi cousin and other A5 notebooks?

kplminThat's pretty close, but fit on these notebooks isn't just measurements. Things like the thickness of the cover, where the cover bends to open, how round the corners are etc, all have an impact on making it feel just right. If you want to make sure it fits, we would highly recommend customization. We simply can't make any promises until we can test it ourselves.

AllegoryGoodsLast q: it's a softcover. With the narrow leather strip the right side fits down into, would that lead to some problems? I wonder if it would pop out. If you can't tell I really like this and want to try it and don't think I could pay special order price. 😬

kplminAfter looking at some photos of the notebook you mentioned, I don't think it's likely to fit. The shape of the cover and the corners are the biggest question marks. I wish I could give you a more definitive answer, but without the book in-hand there's just no way to know for sure.
