Does anyone know if these covers will fit all standard A5 notebooks. For example, I use Midori MD notebooks and they are slightly wider than the Rhodia Webnotebook. (about an 1/8").
BJKott@BJKott No, I'm sorry. Our A5 won't fit your Midori MD. It's a pretty exact fit for the Rhodia. It does however fit the Leuchtturm 1917 Medium Notebook. We can definitely modify the cover for you though to fit if you want to send us an email at service@allegorygoods.com. :)

BJKottYou might be able to stretch the Allegory cover. Mine fits loose along the spine, enough that I can slip a finger between the cover and spine. You need some way of stretching the leather. Failing to stretch the leather cover, will you be able to use the cover on another notebook or pawn it off on another fountain pen and fine paper enthusiast?
I am quite happy with my Allegory Webbie cover. There was some misunderstanding about shipping, but otherwise I received a great cover. I would love to get several more covers in different colors for my Webbies.
For me, it is not worth gambling that Allegory will get another cover correct. From reading comments below, Allegory has screwed-up several times with little to no effort or desire to correct those mistakes.
My wife is a chairperson for the largest Pacific Northwest quilt guild. Several members on quilting-specific forums have complained that Massdrop is pawning off 2nds and flubs as prime material. Not neccessarily my opinion, but with the ammount of screw-ups coming out of Massdrop, I can see where some might get that idea.

BJKottThanks for the input!! Appreciate it.
sallenHey @sallen, @BJKott and @it-man -
Thank you all for keeping an active conversation going about our products. This is how we love to work - in communication with our customers. It's how great products that actually fit what you guys need get made AND it's how we improve our work.
About our custom work, if your interested, please check out this review from a customer we worked with last month, https://www.massdrop.com/talk/675/the-case-for-custom-covers?referer=LJDRSN. For custom pieces we always purchase the specific notebook in question ourselves, if we don't already have it, so we can make sure the fit is right. I really wouldn't recommend trying to stretch the leather yourself for risk of warping the overall shape and general quality and durability of the leather. As I said, I'm happy to chat about modifying the A5 to fit. :)
Also, @sallen thank you for the heads up about some unaddressed issues further back in the comments. We want all our customers to LOVE their Allegory piece and love working with us. It is not our intention to leave anything unaddressed. We very happily do exchanges or full refunds as necessary. It's pretty easy for issues to get buried in the comments so I'll go back through carefully and follow-up on anything we missed.
And as far as seconds go, I can't speak for other Massdrop vendors, but we make the pieces for each drop to order to allow for the level of customization with leather color, thread color and engraving. :) No seconds from us!
Hope this helps clarify any misunderstanding with working with us. We enjoy the open line of communication with you all. If you ever have a specific issue you need addressed the best way to reach out is via email at service@allegorygoods.com so it doesn't run the risk of getting buried in the comments thread.
All the best! Jess

AllegoryGoodsI was not expecting a response - thank you for taking the time to answer some of the concerns of the group.
It's easy to talk; lets see the walk. Fixing some of the issues would go a long way to restoring confidence that would make me at least, not feel as if I am gambling on getting a quality product.
I hope those that have had issues, post either here or in another Allegory drop especially if their issues were solved. It is easy to flame a company in the comments, but sometimes we forget to praise them when they stand up. No one is perfect, but it is how we handle our mistakes that define us.
I am very happy with the first two Allegory leather covers that I have - one for a pocket notebook and one for a Rhodia Webbie. Both Allegory-covered notebooks ride in my SCOTTeVEST as part of my EDC. The leather covers are developing their own character as they age.
As a retired Infantry soldier with a 50-mile commute each way on public transit into Seattle most days (don't get me started on down town parking), I require products that can survive.
BJKott@sallen And thank you for your thoughtful response. :) I've followed-up with the customers you referenced with unaddressed issues. They were definitely NOT buried, I just somehow missed their comments. So again, thank you for bringing that to my attention. Our partnership with Massdrop has been transformational for our business. You guys are great customers who participate in the creation and refinement of products. As a Kickstarter-born company, that's what we love. Keep the feedback coming. :)
