Is there any reason to get this over the x32?

GameSofterThe answer will dependent on your use-case. Feature set wise they have about the same amount and types of features - the difference being the execution and the operation experience. The QU-16 is probably more durable than the X32. Also take into consideration if you have a licensed repair shop/service center near you; if the UQ-16 or X32 break down (its inevitable - it will happen eventually) - if you can't get it to be fixed than you have a $3000 paperweight. The one with the better support and feels more natural to use should be the one you pick.

GameSofterI have both the Qu-16 and the X32 (full size). They are both great mixers, but both are clearly aimed at different use cases.
You know that gap between using a 16-channel rackmounted analog and the full-featured X32? This fills that gap perfectly.
Advantages this has over the x32 are (just off the top of my head, haven't done any shows in a bit): 1) Touchscreen 2) Easier to pick up for people new to digital boards 3) Very straightforward setup, no complex routing options to worry about 4) Sends on faders for all outputs immediately available on hand
Basically, A&H designed a drop-in replacement for all those 16-ch analogs, and it comes with a much friendlier learning curve (compared to most digital boards).
