The first N-3B jackets were produced in the mid-1950s for US Air Force air crews assigned to transport troops in extremely cold climates. The Alpha Industries N-3B keeps the classic silhouette and mil-spec features, while replacing the original’s nylon shell with heavyweight garment-washed cotton for added warmth and durability. The snorkel hood, snap-down storm flap, and knit cuffs seal out heavy winds, while the diamond-quilted lining provides extra insulation against sub-freezing temperatures. This thigh-length parka’s bevy of pockets includes hand-warmer pockets, lower side-entry and flap pockets, an interior welt pocket, and a utility pocket on the sleeve.
