Updated Design for Speed & Stability

A long-trusted running shoe gets an upgrade in the Altra Instinct 3.5 and its women’s counterpart, the Intuition 3.5. Both retain the lightweight design and innovative technology of the original versions, now with a softer upper, a more responsive midsole, and highly reflective accents for better visibility in low-light conditions. The FootShape toe box encourages natural toe splay and keeps the big toe straight for more comfort, stability, and power. The dual-layer EVA midsole’s A-Bound top layer reduces the impact of hard surfaces, and together with the FootPod outsole, delivers flexible, responsive performance. Finally, the company’s proprietary Zero Drop platform ensures an ideal weight balance from heel to forefoot, great for running, long-distance walking, cross-training, and ultramarathons.

Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice between the men’s shoe in Blue/Silver or Racing Red/White, and the Women’s shoe in Hemlock/Pewter or Orchid/Silver. Select full and half sizes are available in men’s 7 – 14 and women’s 5.5 – 11. Both the Instinct and Intuition shoes run slightly short. Please note that, though some of the images below depict the black shoes, these won't be available on this drop. Limited units available. These are closeout styles.

The History of Altra

Altra was born in the back room of a Wasatch Mountains running store, where owner Golden Harper met countless runners who complained of knee pain, shin splints, and other injuries from traditional pointed toe boxes and thick, heavy heels. A competitive runner himself, Golden began experimenting with shoe alterations to solve his customers’ problems. By melting the outsoles (in his trusty toaster oven!), he was able to remove the excess heel elevation for a more natural, relaxed foot position. The new platform design was dubbed Zero Drop.
