Massdrop did a terrible job of representing the color. In their main pic it's clearly white but in reality its almost a dark grey.

Just a heads ups for any new Altra users these are my 6th pair of this manufacturers shoes and I swear by them having been used PCT, AT, the Te Araroa along with other thru trails they are awesome but wear out rather quickly. Robust they are not. Tallus for example shreds the uppers so take care and try to use some micro gaiters to reduce upper wear enjoy stay safe thanks altra!!!!!!!

So now the 3.5 is dropping and I don't know if I should get this one or that one, @AltraRunner what say you?

It is interesting that the 3.5 is obviously newer, yet at the same time less expensive than the 3.0, I'm not 100% clear on if they are supposed to be "better" or not. Clearly one of the main differences is that they have mesh tops as opposed to the water resistant tops of the 3.0 NeoShell, other than that I'm not super clear on what the differences are.
rhenomAll of the NeoShells are built on the 3.0 platform. We don't update our water resistant line as often as we update our mesh line. That is why the mesh are now at 3.5 and the Neo's are still at 3.0. They're very similar and I wouldn't say one is "better" than the other. It just depends on if your priority is keeping your feet dry or not. Great question though!

The size is UK or US?
I noticed on the Altra website that both the men’s and women’s mids come in black. Yet here only the women’s do.
Is it possible to get the men’s in black? Or is it possible to get a size in the women’s that would be the equivalent on the men’s US 10.5?
I just got a pair of running Altra HiiTxt through Massdrop and love them. I also need hikers and would like to try these but don’t care for all the colors and the Altra website is simply too much money for my budget.
Men’s 10.5 would be a women’s 12
AltraRunnerAnd it appears 12 in the woman’s black mid is not available here. So no men’s black kids nor women’s black in my size. Shoot. The other models are just so loud that I can’t see myself wearing them day to day. It’s too bad as I was ready to purchase them.

Is anyone familiar with the sizing? I wear a Men's 12.5 in the Superior 2.0, would these fit about the same?
rastamandjThe superior 2.0 fit exceptionally small. I’d go down probably a half size

What size do you suggest to order? Do these run a half size small? These are good for long distance hikes?
Sabrinaanne33It really depends on what shoe you’re comparing them to. In general they run true to size but some people size up a half size to account for thicker socks and swelling
