Here's a good review of the Neoshell, by itself and as compared with the Lone Peak 2.5:

swimjay>The great news is that Altra is completely revamping the entire Lone Peak line, and added overlays on the uppers and a new outsole for summer 2016 with a Lone Peak 3.0 and Neoshell 3.0, along with a mid cut Lone Peak Neoshell which looks awesome for long winter outings.
Thank the design-lord almighty they are adding overlays. This should seriously improve the LP 3.0s on steeper/sketchy trails. The biggest issue had always been injuries or near-misses from lateral slippage.

TeliosHow do we find out if these are going to be the new Lone Peaks or a previous version?

ajsg8rThese will be the old LP NeoShells without a doubt. The new ones aren't due for a few months yet.
These LP NeoShells are based on the LP 2.0s.
