Several years ago on the old backpackinglight email list we came up with a similar idea: hikers and backpackers will typically be wearing a pack and so the backs of most jackets are relatively useless. This jacket adds to that idea the notion of easy quick put-on and take-off. Clever stuff, although I don't see myself getting one. I rarely use windshells and don't take my jacket on and off very often, so the efficiency gain is minimal. OTOH the light weight is nice.
