@AltraRunner I was just wondering if this most recent Timp Trail drop was for the most recent version of the Timp or an older version.
Just got mine in. They run a little small. Would anyone be willing to trade a size 11.5 for my size 11? Mine are brand new and just wore once inside my house on carpet.
(Edited)
Great shoes. This will be my third pair of the Timp Trails. I just wished the cushion that the sole is made of lasted longer.
Third time signing up for an Altra shoe drop. Has been canceled every time so far. Very disappointing. Hopefully this one makes it through ....

Third time's the charm!
Anyone know how these fit across the toe relative to the Torin or the Lone Peak?
Men's size 9.5 out of stock. Any chance of it being restocked before the end?
Sizing, I have lonepeaks 3.5 size mid mesh 13,lp3 neoshell mid size 13, Olympus 3 size 13 and Timp size 12 (my first pair) and size 13. A size 12 Timp is wider than a lonepeak 3.5 or Olympus 3. However toes will hit the end. Fyi I wear a 12 in nb asics Nike timerland etc. I have wide feet. If you own lonepeaks buy same size. If your new to Altra size up. If your a hiker u want the extra toe room for down hills and foot swelling. Timps are wide. They are my favourite altras. Also my sides split on the 12 and I sewed them at a boot/key place and they have been fine since. The split due to me laying on concrete and working. They are not as robust as the LP, but they are nicer to wear.
Is this a neutral running shoe?
Callax8
Indeed it is Callax8! Technically speaking all Altra are neutral : )
I’ve got the Altra Escalante size US10.5, which fits me perfectly. Should I size up for this Timp as several have suggested?

I'm considering upping the size to 11 to play it safe. 10.5 on the Escalante is just fitting, so perhaps I should add a little buffer since the Timp's upper mesh is likely less comfy/soft than the Escalante's. Hopefully someone with lots of Altra shoes can shed some wisdom before the drop ends!

I own a version of Altra Escalante in size US9 which fits perfectly, and I own Altra Superior 3.0 in size US9, who feels slightly smaller since they bring some sort of a stiched toe-guard, while the Escalante's upper is very stretchy. On the flats this is fine, however, every time I run down a mountain, I can feel how my toes hit the hard upper a little bit, which isn't the case in Escalante. Be aware, that Altra Timps use the same performance last shape as Escalantes and Superiors (PFS2-M last). Technically, their foot shape is the same. Just be aware, that Timps also have a bit of rubber arround the toe area. I'd recommend sizing up half a size, if you plan to do mountain running and/or hiking in the timps.
I love these shoes. Unlike some others, I bought the same size (actually 1/2 size smaller) than I normally wear. I think this is because I've always had to buy shoes larger to fit my foot since it is quite wide and has a high instep. But these shoes fit the shape of my foot perfectly. I had also tried on the Lone Peak at the same time and did not find that same comfort; they felt like a normal (too tight) shoe. I'm considering buying this drop to have a backup pair...
My brannock size (i.e. dress shoes) is 9.5 E. Any recommendation for sizing on these trail runners?
As a matter of sizing comparison, I wear a 12.0 in the Lone Peak 4 and a 12.0 in the Timp Trail. They fit the same.

Good question. Over the years, I've worn 11.5 in Montrail, Hoka, New Balance, and Inov8. You'll probably want to size up 1/2 size. Altra recommends that you have 2/3" space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. Altra customer service told me that each 1/2 size is 1/4".
Gentle_Jack_Jones
Thanks! I emailed Altra and they suggested that this shoe would fit true to size, but that doesn't seem to be what you and others are saying.
Pretty limited sizes available. Too bad.
I wear a 10.5 in tennis shoes, what size should I go with here? my Keen hiking boots are size 11, adn I use liner socks with Darn Tough wools.
casperinmd
I was informed to just go up a size. I am a 10.5 as well and ordered the 11.
CozShesDead
Thanks, bought the 11 then!
If I wear a 12.5 in the Superior 2.0 would it be better to go down half a size or a full size in this shoe?
why so few sizes ? Cant get a pair that would fit in either mens or womens .

Same here... I've been waiting this brand for long
I am a 10.5 D should I go true to size for these or size up (1/2, 1 size)?
CozShesDead
Definitely go up a size, my first altras were timps I bought the same sizebas ASICS or nb and timberland, they were wide enough but my toes hit the end. Next size up had the extra length.

Thank you for your help! @Mike80r
Anyone know how the sizing compares to the Altra Superior 3.5?
bookworm13
Same size
Are these the 1.0 or the 1.5 version. Description does not say
Any mid/forefoot runners with any experience with this pair?
How do these compare with Lone Peak 4.0 for thru hiking, like the JMT?

I am a fan of how Altra shoes fit and the cushioning. These may be the most comfortable I have ever owned. They also wore out the quickest.
Warning, $45 customs to Canada.

still waiting on these to ship
Are these going to ship?
can somebody tell me how good is this for everyday use?
I wear a 11 EE or EEEE in most all shoes. i wear an 11 in the Altra Timp. It is one of the few shows that I have fiund to be comfortable right out of the box. The toe box is nice and wide as is the shoe itself.
guys, is it worth it or regret buyin?

is it good for everyday use?

Great for every day use but be aware that the traction will wear down quicker. I’d reccomend the Torin for every day use
Is a women's 11 equivalent to a men's 9.5?
Sizzla
That’s the general rule of thumb. A size and a half difference between men’s sizes and women’s sizes
Im always running in 28,5 cm with plenty of space in front . I always have to go for larger size due to the realy wide feet , could anyone suggest me altra sizing ?
