Altra Torin 3.5 Running Shoes

Altra’s number-one road shoes are back with a fresh look and an updated upper. Offering a natural ride with plenty of support, the Torin 3.5 running shoes are ideal for training, racing, walking, cross-training, and general fitness. The quick-drying mesh upper wicks away moisture, while the TPU overlays provide a more secure fit. The dual-layer EVA midsole features an A-Bound top layer and an InnerFlex layer to reduce the impact of hard surfaces and deliver flexible, responsive performance. Altra's FootShape toe box encourages natural toe splay and keeps the big toe straight for more comfort, stability, and power. Meanwhile, FootPods on the outsole map the metatarsals for more adaptive, individualized cushioning across the foot. Finally, the proprietary Zero Drop platform ensures an ideal weight balance from heel to forefoot, great for running, long-distance walking, cross-training, and ultramarathons.

Altra was born in the back room of a Wasatch Mountains running store, where owner Golden Harper met countless runners who complained of knee pain, shin splints, and other injuries from traditional pointed toe boxes and thick, heavy heels. A competitive runner himself, Golden began experimenting with shoe alterations to solve his customers’ problems. By melting the outsoles (in his trusty toaster oven!), he was able to remove the excess heel elevation for a more natural, relaxed foot position. The new platform design was dubbed Zero Drop.
