Altra’s number-one road shoes are back with a fresh look and an updated upper. Offering a natural ride with plenty of support, the Torin 3.5 running shoes are ideal for training, racing, walking, cross-training, and general fitness Read More
I have worn a size 11.5 in just about all running shoes including Brooks, Asics, Mizuno, Saucony, and the Torin 3.5. This allows about a thumbs width in front of my longest toe while standing which is ideal. Embrace the space!
Has Altra fixed their durability issue? I was an early adopter (Torin 1, Superior 2) but the back of the heel on both wore a home in under 3 weeks on each
SShafYes! As long as you are not slipping your foot in and out of the sneaker without untying it, and you keep your shoes relatively snug so that you don't feel your heel slipping up and down you should be fine.
Having owned Altras in the past (but not this specific pair), I've had to go a half-size down to get an appropriate fit. While this won't help folks who aren't anywhere near the options, I just wanted to put it out there. The toe box is rather wide, so that takes some getting used to, but they're quite comfortable and durable. If you're debating on a size, I would definitely recommend going a half-size down.
