American Bench Craft Hammer Riveted Wallet

Three years ago, Massachusetts-based American Bench Craft launched with a single product, the Hammer Riveted Wallet—and it remains the company’s best seller to this day. It’s constructed from a single piece of vegetable-tanned full-grain leather, which is folded and secured with metal rivets, then stamped and finished using simple hand tools. The rivets withstand heat and friction better than thread stitching, and the leather is meant to break in, become more supple, and develop a unique patina over time. Along with two easy-access front pockets for your most frequently used cards, you’ll find two inside pockets for additional cards and folded bills.

Founded by two brothers who wanted to make a better, longer-lasting wallet, American Bench Craft now offers a full range of tools and accessories, including belts, bracelets, key fobs, luggage tags, knife sheaths, and more. All products are made in the company’s workshop in downtown Reading using traditional equipment, and each part of the process—from cutting to stamping to riveting to finishing—is done entirely by hand.
