Just trying to demonstrate that the price point for your product is exactly where it should be since the user supplied a link that was clearly not a US military issued product. As you can see the one I provided usually sells for $75 which is without the addition of leather straps and is not nearly as stylish or uncommon. I’m a big supporter of your products and hope to see more on massdrop!

At the risk of seeming naive (though I feel more like the child in the story "The Emperor's New Clothes"), aren't surplus canvas army duffels readily available at very cheap rates? I'm not sure how putting a couple of leather straps justifies this cost. Not trying to offend, just curious.

JohnfromMOHey, we are happy to clarify. Cheap China-made knock offs are readily available and very easy to come by. These bags are not those. They are genuine Government Issue bags that are very difficult to come by especially in New condition. They are auctioned in large pallet size lots mixed with other gear and there is no predictability to their availability. Also, with these bags being genuine Government issue, they are 100% made in the USA to exacting specifications. Hope that helps to clarify the price.

Would love one of these bags but.............................. For the next run, can you affix two rings on both ends so that a strap can be attached? Would even justify the price increase to do that. Also..................your belts are so cool.............maybe you could fashion a strap and sell as an add on? Cheers

I just bought a duffel bag from LL Bean but this is super cool, if this drops again in the future I'd definitely pick this up.

Are there different variants of the surplus duffels that you guys have found? Or are there any clear differences between the 10 allowed for this drop?

rhinocerosbladderThe only variation we have seen is the zipper on some bags is black and on others is green. Other than that, the lots are pretty consistent.

I mean, it needs the attachment points to be put on first...A strap is useless without anywhere to clip it onto....

knowyourbuzzHey, yes you are correct, there are no attachment points for the shoulder strap so you can't just fit a generic strap to them. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to customize them for this drop.

I don't disagree ABC, that is why I specifically said "Nice, but... not for me." If the bag were larger, I'd go $100, or if it was this size, I would go less than $100, just not the bag for me at this price point. Good luck with the drop!
