As someone who also takes clothing pretty seriously, I will say that describing what a product is 'worth' is a complicated statement that rarely has a simple answer. Does the fact that these are made in the USA (unlike most socks at or above the prices you mention) make these worth more? What about the use of higher quality materials? Or the pattern? The answer is basically that it depends on what you're looking for - yes for some, no for others. Some people on this site spend over a grand on headphones - to me that's hard to understand and isn't something I would do. But is it worth it to them? Absolutely.
