If "38 ever sold" and reviews are being cited in the discussions, why no link to the reviews?
It seems that the delivery schedule is already delayed. If it's not too much trouble, how about opening drop again? I'd like to buy more as presents.

I got the delay notification email also, and then the shipping notification a few days later.
Interesting... Still I can't see your review. Just relocating to Dragon Ice main page.... OK, I don't want to make you spend time. I'll see mine after getting it. Thank you!
What's up with the delay? What's the ETA? cuz I ain't gonna wait another month.
Hi Apogee I drop 8.5" Dragon Ice fusion and 8.5" magnetic bamboo sheath for 8.5" Dragon Ice fusion. What's mean below description? The 8.5" bamboo sheath is not compatible with 8.5" Dragon Ice fusion? "You can also add a magnetic bamboo sheath (*will not fit on the fusion knife) for (+ $15)."
Once burnt on the Vital, twice shy~!

Fair enough! I was thinking of the 9" chef's, so the size difference aside hopefully it's an easy comparison to the vital since they're similiar in profile. Good to know about the thinner handle, I adored the shape of the Vitals handle but the weight was a major issue so I'll look forward to a more blade forward COB I hope. It looks like it has more of a flat spot towards the front compared to the vital, closer to a gyutou or sabatier, would you say that's accurate in person? I'm mostly a pinch gripper, primarily push and pull cuts with some rock chopping for herbs, so I like the sounds of bits being crowned. Also I'm not certain if you do the write up or can edit the description, but there's an error " Ergonomically crafted from G-10, the handle is smooth and grippy, with three polished stainless steel bolsters to hold it together. " I believe that's meant to be three polished stainless steel pins to hold it together. Thanks again!

You are right on the shape. It sores have a flatter profile. I hope you like it, please email me at depstein@apogeeculinary.com when you get it.
Hi everyone! As promised I’m attempting to correct my typos. Thank you for considering this drop. This is the first product we are launching under our name from our Chinese factory. Already, I can see I’m not going to be able to use the Dragon name without causing confusion. I‘m open to suggestions. Why China? Two reasons, first Japan has had and continues to have a shortage of Japanese knives. I just spent the last week in Japan and hopefully we have made some headway. Japanese product, also commands a premium price. These knives are defiantly created to show a value. The difference between the the two is that the Japanese product uses Micarta for the handle and these use G10. The Japanese product also uses 3mm stock and these use 2.5mm stock, so they are lighter. We we are excited to have Massdrop as our launching partner, and they are definitely offering a great deal. We hope you love them.
Which bamboo sheath size should i get for the 9" chefs knife? The 10"?

That is correct

You are absolutely correct. That is what I get when I’m using a cel phone in the streets of Japan. I will redo it.

You rock, and I'm glad to see someone support excellent Chinese factories with passion. These look great, and the price makes them amazing!
"magnetic bamboo sheath (*will not fit on the fusion knife)"
Still hoping for a sheath fitting the Dragon Fusion one day :'(
is the fusion knife, full tang? Also is this stainless steel?
widjet55
Yes it is full tang and stainless
What’s the dimensions (including weight) of the fusion knife?
widjet55
The fusion knife weighs exactly 9.92oz. Blade length is 8.5" and overall length is 14" end to end.
Why no shipping to Israel?

No these are made by our Chinese factory.
In the past I was able to buy a fixed blade knive from massdrop, and was very happy with it. Maybe you should use a different cuirier company, or inform them of this.
Wow. This looks like an absolutely perfect chef's knife in every way from stem to stern, at least for the way I do things in my dungeon kitchen. It is also a work of art. From the crossed out price, I guess this is a bargain, but for my budget, it is like a museum piece that I can only come once in a while and stare at, wide eyed, with my mouth open and a puddle of drool in my keyboard . . .
Well this just took a turn for the worse, I have several of the dragon series, several of the dragon fire series and love them all. Now there is dragon ice? You aren't helping my financial situation.

I also have the dragon and fire series but these are made in China so I wonder if Yaxell is involved at all. My Dragon Fusion is labeled Apogee on the box but the blade is imprinted with Yaxel whereas these knives actually have Apogee printed on the blade. Cutlery and more has their Nexus line, which are also made in China and of bd1n SteelSteelSteelSteel. LThese look very similar to that line. Both lines also shared the G10 western stlye handle, which I'm not really a fan of. I definitely like the Micarta better. If Yaxell does make these knives, do you think they'll have the scimitar under their own brand? I also really like this smaller santoku with what looks to have less of a belly.
Jahblaze
YAXELL has no involvement in this line.
I'm interested in the 8.5 inch Dragon Fusion Nakiri. What's the difference between this Dragon Fusion and the Yaxell Dragon Fusion apart from different logo, a simpler handle design and made in China vs Japan ? Is it the same profile, thickness and weight etc. ?
