LN2SVenture Electronics Monk Plus, $5 and thousands of people love them. People with $400 headphones think they're great. You're just ignorant. Even at this price, I still wouldn't put those things in my ears. The highs are too sibilant, uncontrolled, they lack low end, clarity BUT OH LOOK AT THIS ACOUSTIC BASS CHAMBER - Apple CEO. Behind the driver is nothing but solid plastic. The little stem on the earbuds has a wire running through them. IT HAS VOLUME CONTROL AND A MICROPHONE. Great, a microphone that sucks more than the phones mic. Mute, pause and play are nice. I never use them and people i've seen with those earbuds are too busy scrolling through instagram and telling people how great their earbuds are and 'oh listen to this bass' which is funny considering they are very lacking in bass. VE Monk Plus, $5, better imaging, soundstage, cleaner sound, better vocal reproduction, aren't sibilant (assuming you don't know what that is, considering you think audiophile worthy headphones are all expensive) and don't retail for above five dollars outside of massdrop. Ali express and the veclan website lists them for five dollars. The owner of the company isn't concerned about making products, he's concerned about making proper earbuds and amplifiers. Apple's EarPods are nothing but a product. They're used to listen to audio output on your slow iPhone. They aren't meant to immerse or impress.

LN2SQuite a jump there from 10 dollar iPhone junk earphones to 400 dollar headphones. There's quite a few things in between, and much better than iPhone EarPods below that price range and also dropping here on MD.
Obviously you love your EarPods so I'm gonna leave you alone in the room with them.

I have both. I like the earpods better for plenty of reasons. You can see the writeup I've done on the Monk+ discussion, page 29. Monk+ is more around ~7.50 btw, since fancy shipping seems to always be tacked on no matter where you purchase it.

SomeTechNoobYeah, shipping went up wince the last drop :(. DHL sucks. Other than that, I can see where people would like these over the monks. They're more comfortable, have an mic with volume controls, pause/play button, the cables outer bits feels better BUT personally MSRP doesn't seem worth it. MD price is attractive but being a former owner of the Pods, I couldn't go back to them.
