Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I purchased latest Schiit Fulla 2 device and was very unsatisfied with the quality of the device and the way Schiit addressed the situation. While there are many very happy Schiit customers at this point I would not consider another product from them for myself. I like electronics that functions well and looks good. Schiit is less about form and more about function...
Arcam has been around for ages making great audiophile grade products. I had never owned one personally, but in my opinion there is no doubt that Arcam product will perform and will be pleasure to use. It will sound good and look good. It is function and form! The review on innerfidelity is very positive: http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/british-hifi-heritage-arrives-headphone-world-arcams-rhead#EvxhMZtmCPY6FffM.97. In my experience innerfidelity reviews are fair and honest... And British audio products are always top notch.
I had been tempted by Schiit products for a while and there is always something that stops me. Each of their products I considered functions well apparently, but for me personally there are always things which do not make sense. Like power switches on a back... Why? Cases that are designed to be stacked with finish colors that do not match... Stacks that do not stay in place because wires push them apart... It just seems that there is always a feature or two which I would like to have and it is missing... No power switch on a front panel, no output switch, no preout volume control. Gets really hot. Should not be powered off... This or that... They represent value, but personally I don't mind paying a bit more and maybe having a power switch on the front panel...
I have had 2 Modii (is that the plural? LOL), a Modi 2 Uber, and now a Modi Multibit. I have had absolutely no problems with either on my Win10 Pro main PC.
I am also running a Schiit Wyrd before the DAC, but it was added about 2 months after I got my first Modi so unsure if that might clear up your problem. I had no problems before I added the Wyrd either.
Now, the case on my Wyrd appears to be sand-cast aluminum instead of the brushed aluminum on my Mimby. So yes, if you care about exact case-matching, there may be issues. I don't much care personally.
I leave the Wyrd and Mimby on 24/7, power draw and heat are negligible. The Mimby outputs to my Stax amp, which conveniently has pass-throughs, and from there on to the Jot. Depending on whether I'm listening to Stax or to "normal" headphones is which amp I turn on.
I do already own a Jotunheim, so won't be joining this Drop. If I didn't though, I would seriously consider it. The Arcam name is old-school audiophile, as is the Adcom kit that pops up on here occasionally.
*edit* I would NOT run your Modi off a USB hub! Hook it up directly to your machine. Your hub could be introducing interference and/or timing issues.
Now that I look into the problem, I also don't really understand why it's not affecting me as well o.0 It looks like it should be....
Not sure if it will help, but you can try installing ASUS AI Charger. Probably not, but worth a shot. http://event.asus.com/mb/2010/ai_charger/
