Oh, look, another US-only drop. Please, Massdrop, do keep sending me 2 to 3 emails a day about things I can never get.
PedroCruzChange your email options & stop requesting WOTC sealed product. I'm sick of hearing you complain when everyone has told you they can't sell them to you. GO ON EBAY!

MagicalTabletopGirlsChange email options. Now that's a good idea. It sounds a lot like "if you're sick of my comments, avoid them". Or seek medical help, 'cause it's not common to get sick from reading stuff. Here's another good idea: Stop me from requesting items if you can't sell them to me. It's quite simple, given Massdrop knows my address. "Go on ebay"? Sounds like an excellent business plan for Massdrop. You should pitch it to them. Make it their slogan, actually. I don't need to know or care about WOTC distribution policies or any other company that might sell something through this site. I see an ad on Massdrop for something that I'd buy, I join the drop. Or maybe not even that. Maybe I just get emails saying "hey, you might like this"... ok... "oh, no, we don't sell to you... again". I've been a member for four years (or something like that) and never got to buy anything. It's frustrating and I don't see a problem with manifesting that frustration.
PedroCruzYou know Wizards polices learn to accept it, that is part of being an adult. It's not going to change because you complain on, I don't even know how many Massdrops at this point; send your complaints to WOTC directly. Massdrop is not in-charge of Wizards, they can't do ANYTHING for you, if you want to buy Magic sealed products you must use 3rd Party re-sellers like E-bay, that are not bound legally to WOTC. It sucks but that's the way it is. "I've been a member for four years (or something like that) and never got to buy anything." The definition of insanity is doing the same-thing again and again expecting different results. ~ Albert Einstein.

PedroCruzThe problem is that it's not something they can ever do anything about. You're complaining at the wrong people - it's like calling Microsoft tech support because your car isn't starting. WotC to disallows sales of sealed MtG products outside the US. Massdrop can do nothing about it if they want to maintain business relations with WotC, and let's face it, you're simply not important enough to justify that large of a break.
Also, it's annoying to see the constant whining about something Massdrop can literally do nothing about. They take up space in comments that could be used for anything useful, or nothing at all, which would allow useful comments to stand longer. Even useless comments like "got mine in X days, very pleased" are more useful than "waaah Wizards won't let Massdrop do a thing so I'm going to cry about it waaah".

mortilusI disagree. Here's two actions for Massdrop: 1 - Display information about country restrictions when people are requesting (or make it more visible, 'cause I just didn't find it) 2 - Don't send emails to people from country X if you know the drop is only for country Y. They have all this info. People are paying Massdrop and, as clients, that's all they need to worry about.
They could even pass on the information of the complaints to WOTC, even if, in the end, they'd end up doing nothing with it. "Can't do anything" is the excuse of lazy people. You can always do something.

PedroCruzAnd you could always complain directly to WotC

MagicalTabletopGirlsYou misunderstand Pedro's problem. If you live outside of the US and have favorited Hobbies (for example, because almost all the hobby stuff is gated to the US). You still receive 3 or 4 emails a day saying "this may interest you" and when you click it it's US only... Massdrop has our addresses they could filter out the non-US citizens before offering the products.
Also the only way to have this fixed is to be vocal about it. So telling him to shut up is awesome...
FroztbyteOr. Just accept the fact WOTC has effectively region locked their products and the only way to get them is via 3rd party and know that absolutely nothing sealed from WOTC is EVER going to be sold on this website. I don't know why they did it, if I had to guess it's probably due to local governments, which isn't mass drops problem. And if someone from a foreign country keeps requesting these products knowing full well they will never get to buy them, then I'm sorry but that's just stupid. Massdrop isn't WOTC the people to talk to is them.

MagicalTabletopGirlsI agree that the WOTC region lock is not not Massdrops' fault or problem. Also it's a $$ thing as MTG is way more expensive outside of the US. What I said was that Massdrop could not suggest it explicitly in e-mails to foreign people. And it's not just a WOTC thing, almost everything in the hobbies community (board games and card games), are US region locked.
FroztbyteSure but if a person clicks "request" on an item they know won't ever be sold to them, then the only person they can be frustrated at for getting that email is themselves because they set themselves up for disappointment.

mortilusTrue. So here's the plan: I'm going to complain to WotC and ask them to ask Massdrop to stop sending useless emails ;)

MagicalTabletopGirls And how does a person know it won't ever be sold to them? You get that info only when you try to join the drop, not at the request. Plus, it's not like polocies can't change or people just go check the vendor's fine print before doing a simple click on "request".
PedroCruzI'm telling you. 100% of all sealed WOTC products on this web site are not legally allowed to be sold to you. So now you know not to request them. By requesting them you are getting the emails you don't want.

MagicalTabletopGirlsI guess my issue is that the lists they send me could be country filtered. And that would only take them 3 lines of code entered in the mass e-mailing system.
FroztbyteYeah that is an improvement Massdrop could do. I think the only MTG stuff you guys could get on here are the "Re-packs" and that would depend on the seller. But for new sets 3rd party resellers on ebay really are the only option for internationals and I know it sucks. As someone who imports a lot from Japan & China I get it. Even if say I bought it for you, I know the shipping would be insane. :(
