Too bad they are not a well respected brand. They make some beautiful watches.

hyperchord24Hm, cursory google shows that they may be on par (or at least comparable) with Baume & Mercier? http://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/baume-armand-nicolet-1611466.html

pxtangthey way way way over inflate their msrp, you are paying 1200 for a 1200 watch anything more is absurd. think of them like the invicta of luxury watches

drizzyEvery watch brand inflates their MSRPs, I would not use that as a reason to single out Armand Nicolet. (No one is going to give out actual cost of manufacturing numbers). To respond to RobAtPace, below, I have both AM watches offered on previous drops. They are built like tanks, well finished and run perfectly. They are big watches and heavy, something to consider, however I wore a Deep Blue diver today and it feels about the same "weight" as the AMs, and I am not a big person. Also, my preference is to have the band pretty snug around my wrist---prevents heavier steel watches from moving around. Hope that helps.

dholik8503It's one thing to not give out manufacturing costs. It another to say the retail price is 5000 and sell the watches at 2000 and tell the consumer it's on sale. When the watch should cost no more than 1500 given the movements they use. It's a shitty business practice that companies like invicta and stuhrling use which is a main reason why the brand is not respectable. Not to mention the finishings on the watch are not very good

drizzyYou have your opinions, and I disagree--on both MSRP's used in the industry....and I own this watch--it is very nicely finished. I am not going to change your mind, good luck with your watches. Best regards.

hyperchord24I own 2 of them, and you're right. They are very well made beautiful watches. They catch criticism from watch snobs because they use ETA movements, and their list prices are ridiculous. But to be blunt, ETA movements are better than a lot of in-house movements , they have a great track record, are very accurate, and can be fixed by any good watchmaker. But these are not collectable watches from a re-sale standpoint. Buy them because you like a very nice watch.
