arislanThe lugs are short and curve under the watch a bit, as is common with really big watches, since they know that the strap will be going down rather than out, given the reality of wrist sizes. So I think that the lug-to-lug would not be much more than the watch diamerter, maybe 49 mm.
CloacaThanks, but looking at the pics, I wouldn't call it 1mm on each side, probably closer to 2.5mm so maybe 52mm lug-to-lug. Kinda disappointing the vendor couldn't even answer my question correctly...
arislanStrictly speaking, lug-to-lug distance is the distance between the centers of the spring-bar pin holes. These holes are set back from the extreme edge of the lugs. If you picture the pin holes as being equidistant from the end and edges of the lugs on this watch, then they lug-to-lug would be about the diameter of the watch, taking the maximum bezel diameter as the largest part of the watch. If you put the holes a tad closer to the lug end than to the top and bottom of the lug, then I think you get another millimeter on each end.
If you're talking about the "height" of the watch (lug end to lug end), that would be bigger. I've only seen Orient disclose that, and then only on their Japan website. It's not a figure most people care about. Lug-to-lug is more important to fit, and has relevance to custom-fit band lengths.
Beautiful watch...
