ArmourLiteYeah I bought the pocket watch, got it before the shipping date mentioned on MD. Very nice. Only bad thing: it shipped via USPS. So i got slapped with another €60 in taxes and import fees. If you'd shipped via DHL and, let's say, via Germany, that could have been avoided. If you want us Europeans to buy more stuff, make sure you ship in a 'tax friendly' way please!! I would have loved to get this one, but now I'm gonna have to pass on it!

Hi hgoor, unfortunately Massdrop sets the shipping options and provides us the print-ready labels. I'll definitely bring this up to them to see what can be done. What country did the watch ship to? 60 seems quite high for taxes and import duties.

ArmourLiteWell, to be exact, it was €59,32 which is approx. $69,88.. Shipped to The Netherlands. So $219.38 turned into $289,26 ... Needless to say I was not amused... Note that I bought some MD collabs (knives) and they shipped via DHL were it first arrives in Germany and then goes on to Holland. Because the next stretch is within EU, it is then considered a "EU" shipment and no additional tax & import fees apply. I rather pay a bit more in shipping if needed... And this is, btw, something MD should take in mind! I have still 2 things in order and I am already dreading it! Thanks anyway! Oh: and while I am at it: they NEVER show who is shipping: like USPS, DHL or whatever! That is an IMPORTANT factor in decision making!

Hi hgoor, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We're going to discuss this with Massdrop to make the situation better for our European fans. The ship-to-Germany-first option sounds reasonable as we have an office in Germany. When the knife was shipped to Germany first, did you have to pay any German import duties on the knife?

ArmourLiteNo. Shipping from one EU country to another is tax free! As long as the package does not arrive I the final destination country it's ok. This Is, for instance, how OnePlus does it in Europe as well, with their smartphones. They are shipped to Poland, and then distributed from there. No import, no VAT.

ArmourLiteOK, I'm an impatient Type A..... bear with me.... when do you expect actual shipment now that the drop has ended, and by what carrier? Thank you! Looking forward to getting mine!
