kauboyI went to their website and asked them about this and they said it can be configured for both. I’ve been looking at the pictures and it seems possible with some minor mods

PurplehayesThat would be great! Last time this dropped, the rep said they were developing a dedicated flight sim solution that offsets both platforms, but it was still in early stages. I'm probably going to wait and see what they come up with. Hope it's nice.

kauboyLike Purplehayes says, should easy to reconfigure, and that's what I'm getting mine for. No intention for car sim, but definitely for the Condor Sailplane Racing Sim: http://www.condorsoaring.com/index.htm Also check the prices of the Verona Pro chairs that they have as an add-on. Great deal! Got a T-Rudder Mk.IV by VKB (and I'm going to MAKE them fit) and a Saitek FFB joystick to go on this baby!

never2darkThere is a difference in flight sims and space sims. With flight sims, a center stick is normal. With space sims, both are offset to align with the natural fall of the arms. Can this one be altered to such a configuration?

kauboyI'll give you that, and you can't actually buy a commercially made sailplane stick for a simulator. What I didn't mention is that my actual sailplane (15M class) is a side stick setup, so that's how I intend to use the simulator for now, so at least that much is like a space sim. Since I don't have the sim yet (I'm on this drop), I can only say what it looks like: Doesn't look like you could do anything to offset the center post to the side. A little extra hardware might allow you to, but since the post is round, I doubt it. I'd be interested to see what https://www.massdrop.com/profile/ArozziScott says. If I ever get around do making a stick for a sailplane sim, I'll figure out how to mount it in the middle - so it would come up between my knees from below. The steering wheel mount will hold my simulated instrument panel in the current setup. It'll be a monitor and/or a small phone or tablet for now. This thing will save me a huge amount of work, because my original idea was to modify a recumbent exercise bike instead.

kauboyYeah, I fly HOSAS—if there were an option for this to come with two platforms, instead of just one for a shifter, I’d be sold.

kauboythey couldn't even include support for fanatec. was told itll be SOME time until they are supported with a new version. don't hold your breath on a flight stick upgrade being done quickly.

never2darkThis is irrelevant but I have never heard of sailplanes before and I am fascinated! Are these basically very light airplanes with no engine, so they just glide?

BlueCrownedThat's exactly correct! Most people call them gliders.

Image from Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/77968637279491142/ Very light, very high performance airplanes with no engines that glide. People take great pleasure in racing them long distances. My personal record is 302 miles/ 486 km in 6 hours, but that's not very good.

BlueCrownedLOL, most have a single retractable wheel underneath near the center of balance. They can be slowed down quite a bit for landing and are easy to keep balanced until the last second. If the breeze is fairly stiff, you can keep them balanced when they're sitting still. One more thing: Check SSA.org if you're interested. There's lots of info there.
