Product Description
Utility work comes easy with the Falcon from Artisan Cutlery, which gets its name for its blade shaped like the bird of prey’s claws. In this case, the aggressive shape makes the knife very easy to control, especially when scoring or cutting in straight lines Read More

I am unfamiliar with this brand. It is quite new. This knife, as noted, is cheaper at SMKW. Let me vouch for these folks. I have made many purchases in their store; Schrade (big and little), Kershaw (Blur in BDZ1), Steel Will (fixed and folding), Leatherman Rebar, DMT sharpening stones, Gerber Strongarm, a Kizer folder, and others. I am happy with all of my purchases. Their prices fall in a range from "That's great!" to LOL. Their flash sales are good. But back to this knife. The specs looks good. I wish that I was still in Knoxville because I would drive over and handle one. I just don't know about taking the plunge on this because I have similar ones and this company is new and unknown.

Another clarification. I went back to SMKW and they now show a black version. There seems to be some discrepancy on blade size also. The drop says a 3.6 in blade and SMKW says the blade is 3.75 inches. BladeHQ says 3.9 inches in the header, but 3.625 inches in the specs. YouTube reviewers (particularly LuvThemKnives) catches these discrepancies all the time. I wish these stores would get their acts together on the their specs.

I noticed that it says that the knife carries as tip down and you see in the picture a filler tab that would back that up. But then in the pictures it shows the clip in a tip up position. I looked at SMKW's site and it says it is both tip up and tip down. I believe it is both.

Hello all, just wanted to mention this before the price difference: I've personally never purchased anything from "Smokey Mountain Knife Works"(linked below), so I cannot vouch for them personally. However, I've seen plenty of folks here, and elsewhere toss out their recommendations, links, and support for em. To the point that I'm willing to make a purchase myself and just may do so with this blade. Tread at your discretion.
Note: I did not see an option for the green inlay/grip, but I did not look to hard for that either.
$40+$6 base shipping(for me in the southern U.S)+$2* insurance=$48* compared to Massdrops $59 pricetag: https://www.smkw.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=artisan+cutlery+falcon *Thank you BoxBlade for mentioning the insurance!
Feel free to let me know if I missed something, have a great day!

Ah, gotcha, thanks. I see it's $55 now. Come to think of it, I have not seen a price reduction goal or "join when lowest price is reached" option for a good while..... Maybe it's different on mobile. It's beeneen a bit since I've been on MD on my comp.
The physical store sounds awesome, definitely something to look into. Again, thank you, and you take it easy!

RRFluffyI think it depends on the knife. Some go lower and some do not. Have a good one.

General thoughts on Artisan Cutlery, as far as value goes? Seems to be an inexpensive knife (non-Ti versions), but not sure if the quality also reflects that. I like the Apache, just not crazy about the weird glass-breaker 'protuberance' on the end ... looks out of place. (side-note, the Falcon is around 20-dollars cheaper on SMKW, so this drop is far from a good deal)

Sounds like a good plan. I haven't handle an Artisan yet, but they are compelling in that they offer different levels of materials and even size on their models. They seem to covering all the bases.

perlhkrI recently received the Tradition which was a drop here not too long ago. My first knife from Artisan Cutlery.
Overall, a very nice knife for the money. Cost was $45 even though it is a bigger knife. Action is very smooth, blade sharp and everything sits where it should. Not crazy about the lanyard hole but feels good in hand. A bit heavy but it is a big knife with a nearly 4” blade. Very pleased.
