Has anyone actually found a good deal on massdrop? I check all the prices on other websites and have yet to actually find a price thats any better through this site.

r6clairI didn't actually join massdrop because of the prices, I like some of their exclusive offerings. The ferrum forge collaborations especially.

r6clairYes, I have gotten great deals several times. Nearly every drop I've looked at is at least a bit cheaper than it is other places. On one knife (a higher priced one) I got something like $200 off the normal cost. It kind of varies by manufacturer, and the higher the starting cost is, the bigger the discount appears to be. 10 percent off $400 looks a lot better than 10 percent off $60. Some manufacturers limit what their products can be sold for, and on products that are already fairly cheap (the normal cost of these isn't bad) it's hard to come down much anyway. The cheapest I found the D2 model for this one on a quick search was White Mountain Knives for $50.95, but they have none available. $49.99 is cheaper than that, just not much, and WMK isn't really that great of a deal since they don't actually have any of them for sale. Now, the CF version with S35VN isn't the same case. I found it available a couple of different places for cheaper or the same cost as what's listed here. It happens sometimes, but honestly that's been the minority of what I've seen. I've been very pleased and fortunate that a lot of my knife list has shown up on here for pretty substantial discounts.

greyworlderDo you happen to know if the CF version comes with S35VN every time, or is this $60 upgrade to CF also a D2 knife?

OmniseedAs far as I'm aware, the CF is always paired with S35VN on the blade. I've looked it up quite a few places and haven't seen this knife with a CF/D2 combo anywhere yet, including on the Artisan Cutlery website. There are 3 models essentially, with different colors and such. G10/D2, CF/S35VN, and Titanium/S35VN.

JaysmotI can understand that. But I like to hold a knife in my hand before purchasing, so that benefit, isn’t a benefit for me. The feel and function is way more important than the look in a picture.
