Artisan Cutlery S35VN Immortal Folding Knife

You wouldn’t call something “immortal” if it wasn’t built to stand the test of time. The Immortal from Artisan Cutlery is just that. Overall, the knife is very round in shape, which creates a natural feel in the hand. Made with a premium S35VN steel blade, it takes a great edge and won’t corrode or rust over time. The handle is two toned, a combination of titanium and carbon fiber that’s as easy to look at as it is to grasp. It houses a titanium frame lock for blade security and a titanium clip for right-handed tip-up carry. The ball-bearing pivot assembly makes the Immortal easy to flip over and over again. 

Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry) and Chris Reeve (pioneer of the integral frame lock, featured on the Gent), S35VN is perhaps the most balanced blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. It’s made through a process known as Crucible Powdered Metallurgy, which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness.
