Product Description
Most folks looking for a mouse pad want some balance in the picture, but you’re made of a different mold. Instead of even considering control or stopping power, you want full bore speed and smoothness, the perfect combination for racing past opponents and blowing their bunker right open Read More

Been enjoying my mousepad. Find the orange attractive and the size useful. It also sticks to the glass top of my desk without sliding.

I have one of the non-Kai Shidens and it's pretty fast, the glide is pretty similar to the Steelseries 4HD and Zowie G-TF Speed although with more static friction (control). This one is supposed to be even faster than the normal Shiden so take that as you will, hard pad users will probably like this one.
I'll probably be picking one of these up if the normal Shiden's don't go on sale, the price for a Large SK here is almost half the price of one from Amazon or Artisan directly.

Looks about as solidly-crafted as SteelSeries. Not bad.
I have some concerns about it being overly "glidy" though and I'm someone who uses the 4HD mousepad - which has a plastic surface.

ya with cloth there's no need for tape .
about your theory of hard eating soft---I have a teflon pad tho-c4ngen by cshyde. they also make teflon skates and stuff. that thing eats feets and tape as well, but meanwhile being teflon, itself gets eaten by the feet too.
cloth pads usually go to shit after a year's heavy use. Not sure about metal. But honestly..if you are really into these kind of stuff you have more than enough laying around..
