COO? I'm getting real tired of descriptions that do not say where the product is made. Purposeful deception. Massdrop is about to get dropped.

Chinese manufacturer (http://www.artisancutlery.net/ ), been around in this market a couple of years. I’d put them not that far behind WE Knives for quality. Maybe MD assumed (wrongly?) that this was common knowledge.

Seems like it might be useful as a fish filleting knife. Anyone use it for this purpose?

I don't fish, but I've used this knife as EDC since I introduced it to the blades forum (see products thread) months ago. It has worked well for every purpose I have used it. https://www.massdrop.com/talk/10349/artisan-cutlery-waistline-kwaiken

If you like Jeff Park's crossbones design but don't want him to get any of the money, here's your knife!

Why are you acting like a jerk? Your name is not Jeff Park and you're entitled to your opinion but the only person that can actually make a complaint and actually have it stick about anything involving copyright is Jeff now stop trying to stir the damn pot

To be fair, they do both look like "different enough" products.
Alas...Carbon Fiber with a Kwaiken look at less than half price! Worth a shot for EDC!
I've got one of these I bought elsewhere a while back. Decent quality-wise knife and looks really unique with the upswept blade, but unlike a real "samarai sword" as put in the description the tip is so thin, I'm scared to use it for fear of breaking the tip off. I named it Stabby McStabface. Basically just a show off knife because of the thin tip.

Oh, go ahead and stab something! If you're going to give a tool a cute name, it has to earn it! I've stabbed a lot of things tougher than faces with mine! Just understand that (relatively) thin tips bend and break if you put lateral (side-to-side) torque vectors on the tip versus straight line (thrusting) or vertical downward (slicing) torque vectors... But ya knew that already, didn't cha? Go ahead... stab something.... you know you want too.... My tools that have earned names: Nothung, Lucille, Tina, Rob'sWetDream, and Billy'sLegacy. P.S.: What's a "samarai"? Don't worry, the people who write these dope descriptions don't know, either!
And better knives Imo. I have a cf artisan shark and while its nice its a bit thick in the handle and blade stock. I think im gonna mill doen the scales and screws to thinnit out 1/8"-1/4" or so. Smkw had the best price at $89 shipped vs $105 everywhere else. The besttechs are a better bargain thou and more ergonomic
Md bestech drops are better deals
Wow, I received the massdrop packaging, but with no contents! looked like the envelope's sticky strip was not activated securely, it still looked new... Now what?

Same thing happened to me! They did refund my money, but I wanted the knife.

Right, I was really looking forward to this drop
I did not receive my item. Can you please answer my support ticket?
Have we seen a drop for Artisan knives here yet that DOESN'T have a 10-20% better price elsewhere?
I feel like we're stuck in the middle of a poorly negotiated contract that we have to ride out until it's over and MD has run as many drops as they committed to at these mediocre to bad prices 😣
Dear MD, I'd actually like to try this brand, but for my first I'd like to get one below average retail (...you know, like what your whole business model is supposed to be about...), so that I can decide if I like the brand first

Lmao damn good question, I hadn't even noticed that
The point is on the blade though...
https://www.smkw.com/artisan-knife-waistline-black-g10-flat-atz1805pbkf Cheaper if available. I believe the orange G10 & CF are OoS ATM. Youre not saving a very significant amount of money, but every penny counts and I'd imagine the shipping is more agreeable.

As far as prices on this drop go, I’d say the only real savings is on the high-end Ti-handled models (the only ones that are an honest 4 inches, btw).  For instance, MD has Knife Center beat by $33 on the S35VN ones, and by $75 on the M390 (MSRPs are $250 & $300, respectively). With a tip that thin, I'd personally want the strongest steel I could get!
