After a fateful trip to Asbury Park, New Jersey native Jimmy Hankins had the idea of injecting the best of the boardwalk into an all-American product: blue jeans. Now manufactured in Los Angeles and sourced from all domestic materials, Asbury Park jeans are made with a deep respect for the past and a forward looking eye. Today, we are pleased to offer their Skinny 1888 Raw 12 oz Jeans, a slim cut meant for adventurous men.
Starting with 100% cotton sourced from fabled White Oak Cone Mills in North Carolina, the 12 oz raw denim is left untreated and brought together using selvedge seams for maximum durability. With a deep indigo dye and contrast stitching throughout, they feature classic design while still appearing fresh. These jeans are meant for activity, for men who run through the woods and motorcycle through the city, who need something minimally styled that won’t break down.
In addition to handcrafting each pair, one at a time, and using a shuttle loom instead of a modern projectile loom, Asbury Park pays further tribute to its historical namesake through the details. At the button fly, the top button contains the iconic amusement park fun face, Tillie, as does the hand burnished leather patch on the back. The other buttons and rivets have the same oxidized tint and are modeled after nearby manhole covers. For a slim fitting pair of jeans that rocks as much history as unabashed fashion, slip into the Asbury Park Skinny 1888 Raw 12 oz Jeans.
