The quality of the device is great, and my unit had no off gassing. The controls are easier to use but my only complaint is that my settings button is a little sticky.
The vape is definitely different than my Pax that I have been using for the past year. The biggest issue I had was getting a satisfying hit, as I would only get flavor and very little, to no, vapor. And yes I tried all the suggestions from the FC thread but the glass flowers. I finally figured out last night that I didn't need to use anything but to pack my load down very gently, to compress it to keep its form. After that I finally got big clouds of vapor, though, less dense than my Pax.
The Ascent will probably take the spot as my main vape, since it has great flavor, vapor, and portability. Its also a little more convenient out of the house for me compared to the Pax since I do not have to stir my load, even if the Ascent is bigger. Overall it definitely is a great device but there was a steep learning curve to get it to work properly.
