Adding to their collection of mob boss inspired wallets, Ashland Leather’s Bugs Moran Bifold features a strong and sturdy construction made from Horween shell cordovan leather. Invented by the Chicago based leather company, shell cordovan is the fibrous flat muscle (or shell) taken from the rear quarters of the horse’s hide, making it a rarer material that’s limited in quantity. The leather goes through an extensive process that includes tanning, stuffing, shaving, and polishing over the course of six months. It is highly regarded as one of the most durable sources of leather and is sought after for its unique, hand-finished, color treatment. Each wallet will have a unique appearance that will come from the shade of each individual piece of shell cordovan.
Note: This drop is limited to 80 units - 40 black and 40 #8.
The bifold doesn’t have a bill slot in order to keep its slim profile, but can still accommodate folded bills. There are four card slots, each able to hold up to three cards or cash. It is finished with hand-burnished edges, bonded nylon thread stitching, and subtle, embossed logos on the interior.
This drop comes in your choice of color between Black and #8 —one of the most famous shades of shell cordovan. For more on the story behind the #8 name, click here.
