Received my #8 yesterday. Very beautify wallet, but I'm having trouble keeping it that way. It's constantly getting smudges even on the inside when I pull it out of my pocket (not sure how that happens...). It's not finger smudges but rather like when there's something smeared on it and it dried. Any other owners have tips on how to keep them shiny and clean?

CavestoriesI think I figured out a solution. Maybe it's just an issue with shell cordovan in general. I put on an even coat of saphir conditioner and buffed it everyday and it's working out pretty good. It's only an issue with the interior. The exterior gets a buffing from my pants pocket and stays clean all day.

wangminzeI believe they are fat deposits that come up to the surface. I was told to constantly brush it with horsehair brush.

OCDADHDI see what you mean. Referencing this perhaps? https://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/threads/shell-cordovan-waxy-white-stuff-at-5-years.103835/ But I find it annoy nonetheless. It's just one of those things people get "OCD" over.

wangminzeBelieve that's blooming and is something different. I just brush my shell cardholders every 6 months or so.
