New from Ashland Leather, these watch straps are handmade in Chicago by a small team of artisans. They begin with leather that's been hand-selected by company founder Phil Kalas, who works as head of operations at Horween Leather Company. Each strap is fitted with seven holes and two keepers, plus a polished stainless steel buckle.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of leather type and color as well as width: 18 mm, 20 mm, or 22 mm. Chromexcel is available in Color #8 or Natural. Dublin is available in Black or Natural. Shell Cordovan (+ $35) is available in Black or Color #8.
Renowned for its durability, shell cordovan undergoes an extensive process that includes tanning, stuffing, shaving, polishing, and coloring—all by hand. The result: Super-smooth, super-durable leather that ages like a fine wine. Chromexcel is also sought after for its durability as well as for its tone, texture, and susceptibility to creases, scuffs, and other markings that reflect your personal use. Finally, Dublin leathers start out as full-grain aniline-dyed cowhide. After being vegetable-tanned and infused with oils and emollients, they become almost as smooth and strong as shell cordovan.
