AntonyFaragYes, if only there were sources for FLAC...
These are mine (not mentioning non-legal sources, which apparently exist as well): www.hdtracks.com https://www.onkyomusic.com/US/ www.linnrecords.com mora.jp/index_hires ototoy.jp/top/
I travel to Japan quite frequently, the last two might not be accessible to some due to language/payment issues

AntonyFaragI contend that doesn't make them any less good as a source for FLAC, it's a matter of preference. I'm curious, what are yours, as you say they aren't available? Non-mainstream music, perhaps?

AntonyFaragYup, there's always some stuff I want that isn't available (a recent Chris Cornell album comes to mind). The annoying part is it's not like these masters don't exist (most cases), just that the recording companies aren't interested in giving us better quality files. I usually rely on converting my CDs to FLAC (16-bit is still lossless at least), but those sites are the first place I check, native high resolution files are often better than vinyl rips that allegedly (air quotes) can be found on the net. I still say there's a considerable collection (and growing) of legitimate high resolution FLAC (as opposed to merely lossless) files out there, just might not be all the stuff you want
