m11a1I own the Amiron after using both it and the 1990 and it's my favorite headphone. 1990 is amazing too, though. Also I thought this drop was for the t5p, the t5p blows. I have not heard the t1p my bad.

UzuzuHow can you say that 1990 wipes t1p off the map (in your first reply) while you have never heard the t1p?

yanitaAre you able to read or not? I said I thought this was the t5p given the price and I didn't look closely enough. The price on these have really come down! I prefer the 1990 to the t1 though easily so I'd imagine the t1p wouldn't be much different in that regard. Beyer makes my absolute favorite headphones.

UzuzuI believe I can, and I can also write a comment in a proper way too. Don't take it too deep. I'm just clarifying your first comment.

michabarlevLate run T1 is superior to this. And to the 1990, too.

PMRAudioBy Late run do you mean the t1 v2 right? It's more detailed than the 1990 but I prefer the 1990s balance of sound. Well, and I prefer the amiron's balance even more, it's like a warm t90. Really though I'd think that t1, t1v2, 1990, amiron, and t90 would all be better than this if it follows the same trend as Beyer's other low impedance offerings. IF it follows that trend. I have no doubt it's a good headphone though but I find Beyer's 250 ohm cans are all easily driven and not particularly amp picky at all why go for the portable t1p when it's an open headphone regardless, makes no sense.

UzuzuT1 Gen1 has three confirmed distinct versions.
T1 SN<3-4K ishk (bright and horrible) T1 SN > 4 K but < 23 K (there may have been revisions in-between, but hard to tell exactly. I believe it was revised perhaps once more in this range). 20K + is "late run T1". T1 SN > 23K is the very rare, T1 Gen1 v2, with parts of the T1V2 built into the Gen 1 chassis.
Late run t1 has reduced treble (compared to the first iteration), bumped bass, and given a well-matched amp, simply excellent. T1 Gen 2 is also very good, with different packaging, slightly fixed, but also reduced build quality (no more leather, but detachable cable and better sliders). Soundwise it's a tad below the late run, but it's not far off.
Amiron I've not tried. T90 is horrible by all accounts. 1990 is good but the FR is a lot less clean than T1. Looks rather strange tbh - fortunately doesn't sound as strange as it looks.
Any who, I prefer the original Beyer products to the AK versions almost universally. AK T1 is fine but just get the original and a tube amp if you're looking to do what the AK T1 does tbh.

PMRAudioI didn't know there was so much distinction in the t1 gen 1 alone, holy moly. Dunno what serial I listened to either. I did like it though! Amiron is just like a perfectly refined t90. No excessive brightness at all it's treble is perfect for my ears. Thanks for your comment though if I can pick up a late serial t1 I might, I'd just mod it to be detachable balanced. I already have enough headphones so what to sell....

PMRAudioI agree, get an original. I went from B&O's to Bowers & Wilkins P7's to Hifiman 4xx's to AKG Q701's and now finally I have a T1 first gen SN3607. There's a few tracks I have with hard to listen to high sibilance but I'm sure that's down to their low resolution recordings. Frankly, there's no going back, the original T1's make music such a joy to listen to. Even walking around with my Chord Mojo setup, I have a huge smile on my face as I hear things with such clarity.
