Someone should Start a Voting Poll for the Astell & Kern AK Junior! In Australia the RRP is AU$699 but in the states it's US$499! Maybe there's a chance for a real bargain on Massdrop for both Australians and Americans!

No argument about diminishing returns, takes big expenditures to get small improvements after a sweet spot...all depends how much the small improvements are worth to you, ymmv. Just sayin...

To be completely honest i've tried the RWAK100 and for the price I wasn't too impressed... I mean yeah it sounds good but i wouldn't pay that much for it. I think the FiiO X3 although not on par, is quite close to it in terms of sound quality and comes at a fraction of the cost
just my opinion you may / may not disagree

Error, committed to buy at the $549 price...I hear some recommend the RWA mod for the output impedence, if the buy comes off, I would try it first, consider that if seemed I needed to. Supposed to be a great sounding player (only worth buying if that's a priority, of course, which it isn't to everyone).

Yes if there is one major flaw on this player its the stupid high impedance output. I had to use their pro eq and boost feature to get back my bass... And I agree the price is on the high side. If you asked me, this DAP real vakue should only be around $400-$500.

I hardly ever have a use for a portable player anymore unfortunately, otherwise I'd love to pick this up and send it off to Red Wine Audio to do their RAK100-S mod on it.
